Senior SQL Server Developer

A well-established business operating in a multi-country, multi-site environment is looking for a Senior SQL Server Developer to support the next innovation and system development phase. This full-time, onsite position is based in Sandton and is ideally suited to someone with deep experience in SQL Server development, particularly in transactional systems. This is an opportunity to be at the centre of data-driven innovation, working within a technically robust team on business-critical systems.
Minimum Requirements:
- 5+ years’ experience as a SQL Server Developer
- Proficient in SQL Server (AWS RDS, Express) and SSRS
- Strong experience in transactional/operational systems (not ETL)
- Solid understanding of GitHub for version control
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Preferred:
- Exposure to mining or heavy industry sectors
- Experience with cloud-based database technologies or migration projects
- Comfortable working under pressure in a high-output environment
Key Focus Areas:
- Write, optimise, and maintain complex stored procedures
- Design and implement new database schemas for upcoming features
- Ensure high performance, availability, and security of SQL databases
- Collaborate with front-end developers to ensure seamless integration
- Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions
- Maintain clear technical documentation and present proposed solutions for approval
