Senior Information Security Engineer

A leading, regulated enterprise organisation is seeking a Senior Information Security Engineer to provide technical leadership across enterprise security architecture, operations, and risk management.
 
The role is responsible for designing, implementing, and optimising security controls across hybrid, cloud, and SaaS environments, including Azure and Microsoft 365.
 
This is a high-impact role for a technically strong security leader influencing enterprise-wide security strategy.
 
  • You will bring 7+ years of cybersecurity experience, including senior-level exposure in security engineering or architecture roles.
  • Strong expertise in SIEM, EDR, firewalls, WAF, DLP, vulnerability management, and identity governance is essential.
  • The role leads major incident response, threat hunting, and advanced security investigations.
  • Responsibilities include oversight of security operations, SOC integration, automation, and security tooling optimisation.
  • The position drives compliance with ISO 27001, NIST, POPIA, GDPR, and FSCA requirements.
  • A relevant IT degree and senior certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or Microsoft Cybersecurity Architect are required.
  • Strong communication skills are essential, with the ability to engage executives and mentor junior engineers.
