A well-established logistics and supply chain business needs a Senior Imports Controller. Reporting to the Team Leader / Key Account Manager, you will run your own portfolio of import accounts from document check to delivery.
What you will own
- Document checks and correct HS tariff classification on every shipment
- SARS entries, cargo dues and authority releases within the deadline
- Cargo release, haulage and ex-works shipments
- Rate checks, invoicing and customer status reports
What you bring
- Matric; a Clearing, Freight Forwarding or Logistics diploma advantageous
- 3+ years’ import freight forwarding experience
- Fluent English and Afrikaans, with after-hours availability
- You catch the wrong HS code before it costs money
- You update customers before they need to ask
Your technical toolkit
- Level 1 and 2 Customs training
- Customs and Excise Act and Tariff Book
- Advanced Excel and Google Workspace
