Senior Engineer – GMR 2.1

You will provide structure and coordination for SHERQ policy and actions related to the safe operation and maintenance of on-site plant and equipment.
The role involves advising senior management on compliance, conducting incident investigations, and ensuring adherence to legal regulations and maintenance procedures.
You will manage GMR 2.7a appointees, monitor statutory compliance, and promote collaboration among maintenance and operations teams.
Responsibilities also include developing and coordinating the implementation of legal compliance programs, maintaining relationships with regulatory and government agency personnel, and ensuring legal appointments and operating procedures within the company to meet all requirements. Additionally, you will oversee the Maintenance Transformation process on-site and chair the monthly Maintenance Forum.
Qualifications
- B-Eng Degree (NQF8) Mechanical / Electrical Engineering
- Government Certificate of Competency (GCC Factories)
Experience
- 4 years of relevant experience in a Maintenance Environment within Operations
- 5 Years’ experience as a GMR 2.7a appointee within Operations or currently a GMR 2.1 Appointee
- Project Management experience will be an advantage
- Experience, knowledge and understanding of the OHSAS 18001:2007, ISO14001:2004, ISO9001:2008,
- Proficient in SAP EAM
- Sound financial management capabilities
