Sandton, Gauteng | Hybrid Work Environment. A specialised technology services organisation requires an experienced Senior Backup Infrastructure Engineer to support enterprise cloud and backup environments while serving as the senior technical escalation point for critical infrastructure support.
This role is best suited to a highly technical specialist with deep expertise in enterprise backup architecture, cloud technologies, systems administration, and advanced troubleshooting within complex client environments.
Minimum Requirements
- Matric (NQF 4) plus relevant IT qualifications
- A+, N+, CompTIA or equivalent infrastructure certifications
- ITIL Foundation certification essential
- Commvault certifications are highly advantageous (CVCSA / CCE / Professional)
- Minimum 4–7 years senior-level backup infrastructure experience
- Strong cloud technologies and systems administration expertise
- Experience supporting Windows, Unix/Linux, SAN, WAN and LAN environments
Key Responsibilities
- Manage escalated backup and infrastructure incidents
- Perform advanced restores and disaster recovery processes
- Configure and maintain enterprise backup environments
- Troubleshoot complex backup failures and critical incidents
- Optimise infrastructure performance and backup reliability
- Provide technical guidance to internal support teams
