A senior commercial leadership role responsible for driving revenue, profitability, and market expansion within a specialised engineered product distribution environment. Reporting to the Group Managing Director, this role is responsible for full P&L accountability and leads the integration of sales, marketing, product, and distribution strategies aligned with group objectives.
This position requires a commercially astute leader with deep exposure to technical product distribution into professional trade, retail and industrial markets. The role focuses on developing and executing a cohesive commercial strategy across South Africa and broader Africa regions, optimising pricing and product positioning and strengthening strategic customer relationships.
You will lead multi-functional teams while ensuring disciplined financial management and sustainable growth. A hands-on, commercially driven leader with strong technical appreciation and understanding of engineered product applications within trade-focused environments. You will demonstrate the ability to build and lead high-performing teams, drive accountability, and deliver measurable growth within a competitive, distribution-led business.
Essential Requirements
- Degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or related discipline
- 10+ years in senior commercial or general management roles
- Proven full P&L ownership and budget control experience
- Experience within technical product distribution or engineered solutions environments
- Experience leading sales, marketing, and distribution functions
- Demonstrated leadership of cross-functional teams
- Commercial, sales, and marketing strategy development
- Pricing strategy, product positioning, and brand management
- Key account management and business development
- New product development and market expansion
- Export experience across African markets
- S&OP, warehousing, and distribution management
