National Sales Manager

A leading player in the FMCG sector is seeking a commercially focused National Sales Manager to lead and grow its national sales function. This role is critical in executing a strategic sales plan to expand market share, optimise profitability, and develop high-performing teams across multiple regions and channels.
 
You will drive sales performance, manage customer and agency relationships, set and achieve targets, implement pricing strategies, and contribute to operational efficiencies. Success in this role requires a strong track record in the FMCG industry, handling retail rebate structures, and managing diverse sales teams and client portfolios across various geographies.
 
We’re looking for a self-motivated leader who thrives in a fast-paced, data-driven environment and is comfortable with travel and stakeholder engagement at all levels.
 
Minimum Requirements:
  • Grade 12 essential; diploma/degree in business advantageous
  • 8+ years in sales, management, or customer service
  • Proven experience in FMCG sales (including handling of retailer rebates)
  • Gauteng-based; must be willing to travel regularly
 
Technical & Other Skills:
  • Strong analytical, budgeting, and forecasting abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Power BI exposure is advantageous
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and communication skills
  • Able to manage multiple teams and regions concurrently
