National Health & Safety Manager
Johannesburg East, Johannesburg – Gauteng – South Africa
You will be responsible for leading the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of Occupational Health & Safety, Food Safety, and Quality Management Systems across all national centres to ensure full legal compliance and operational excellence.
This role requires:
- A seasoned professional with 5–8 years of hands-on experience in H&S, FS, and Quality Management, ideally within a service-oriented environment.
- A SAMTRAC qualification, auditing certification, and registration as a Health and Safety (H&S) Practitioner with SAIOSH are essential.
- along with proficiency in ISO22000, ISO9001, OHSAS18001:2007, and associated South African and British standards.
- Strong knowledge of HACCP, PRPs, and HAZCHEM legislation is critical.
- The role demands expertise in policy implementation, internal and external auditing, incident investigation, emergency procedure development, and national compliance oversight.
- You must be adept in the Microsoft Office packages
- Capable of guiding senior management in aligning site-level systems with national and international best practices.
Preferred candidates will demonstrate advanced technical acumen, strong documentation skills, and the ability to foster a culture of quality, hygiene, and safety across diverse operational environments. Experience with regulatory compliance, including MCC and SAPC licensing, as well as pharmaceutical policy development, will be advantageous.
This strategic role is pivotal in ensuring that all accreditation and legislative standards are achieved and upheld.
