A growing renewable energy operator is seeking a hands-on Engineer to take ownership of multi-site power generation assets. This is a practical, field-focused role suited to an engineer who enjoys working on heavy plant, solving real operational problems, and seeing the direct impact of their work on plant performance.
You will maintain and overhaul generator sets, diagnose faults, and optimise equipment to improve reliability and output. The position offers strong technical autonomy, exposure to varied sites, and the opportunity to build in-house maintenance capability while reducing reliance on external contractors. Extensive travel and overnight stays form part of the role.
This opportunity suits an engineer from power generation, mining, heavy industry, or diesel engine environments who is comfortable working independently and values disciplined safety and maintenance standards.
Key Requirements
- Engineering qualification or strong equivalent trade-based experience
- Practical experience in maintaining generator sets, diesel engines, or heavy rotating equipment
- Proven fault-finding ability across mechanical and basic LV electrical systems
- Experience in industrial sectors such as power, mining, utilities, or manufacturing
- Ability to work independently across multiple field sites with travel commitments
- Experience supervising contractors and supporting technicians
- Strong commitment to safety, environmental, and quality standards
- Organised, hands-on, and focused on reliability and cost efficiency
