Maintenance Technician

A specialised high-volume manufacturing operation is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to support the preventative, predictive and breakdown maintenance of production equipment and site utilities, ensuring maximum equipment availability, reliability and operational efficiency.
Minimum Requirements
- National Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics or Electro-Mechanical Engineering, or Trade Tested Millwright qualification
- Straight Electrical Trade qualifications will not be considered
- Minimum 5 years’ maintenance experience within a manufacturing environment, preferably FMCG or other high-volume production operations
- Strong knowledge of preventative maintenance, root cause analysis, TPM, OEE and continuous improvement methodologies
- Ability to diagnose and repair pneumatic, electronic, mechanical and PLC-controlled equipment
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and reporting systems
- Experience with utilities, automation and PLC systems is advantageous
Key Responsibilities
- Execute planned preventative and breakdown maintenance activities
- Perform fault-finding, root cause analysis and equipment optimisation
- Support continuous improvement, OEE and reliability initiatives
- Manage maintenance documentation and spare parts control
- Assist with equipment installations, upgrades and commissioning projects
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality and operational standards
- Support production teams to minimise downtime and maximise plant performance
