East Rand, Gauteng | Permanent. A well-established organisation is appointing an ECSA-registered Lifting Machinery Inspector to carry out statutory inspections, load testing and certification of lifting equipment.
Essential Registration
- LMI certificate issued by ECSA. Non-negotiable.
- Registered scope covering lifting tackle, chain blocks, lever hoists, overhead cranes, electric hoists and jib cranes
Qualifications and Experience
- Mechanical or electrical trade qualification or a related engineering diploma
- Proven inspection, load testing and certification experience on lifting machinery
- Valid, unendorsed driver’s licence and willingness to travel
Technical Skills
- OHS Act, Driven Machinery Regulations and applicable SANS standards
- Proof load calculation and defect identification
- Issuing certificates of compliance and auditable inspection reports
Responsibilities
- Inspect and load test lifting machinery and lifting tackle
- Determine fitness for service and withdraw unsafe equipment
- Certify compliant equipment within your registered scope
- Advise on defects, corrective action and compliance risk
- Maintain inspection records and re-inspection schedules
