The Head of IT will report directly to the Managing Director and lead a large team of employees, managing an IT budget exceeding R80 million. This role is responsible for driving the strategic direction and operational effectiveness of the company’s Information Office, ensuring IT services and systems align with business goals and regulatory requirements. It is essential that you have expertise in the Supply Chain, Logistics, or Distribution sectors.
You will oversee IT infrastructure, system architecture, cybersecurity, project delivery, and vendor relationships, while fostering a high-performance, innovative IT culture. A key function is to provide executive-level insights and support to leadership through ongoing reporting and strategic input.
Essential Requirements:
- The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or an equivalent field,
- An MBA or a related postgraduate qualification is a distinct advantage.
- A minimum of five years of technical and senior IT leadership experience is required, including proven expertise in project management, stakeholder engagement, and financial oversight.
- Strong leadership, analytical thinking, and people management skills are essential
- Along with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
The role demands strategic and operational acumen, a deep understanding of emerging technologies, governance and risk management capabilities, and a commitment to innovation, ethics, and professionalism.
