A leading manufacturing group is seeking a skilled HR Manager to lead the South African HR function. This position is pivotal in driving people strategy, enhancing operational efficiency, and ensuring legislative compliance within a complex matrix reporting structure. Manufacturing industry experience is essential. This is a high-impact role for a self-motivated HR leader ready to influence and drive people’s operations in a fast-paced, globally integrated manufacturing environment.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field
- 10+ years’ HR experience, 5+ years in an HR Manager capacity
- Proven experience in a multinational, matrix-structured environment
- Deep knowledge of South African labour law and union exposure
- Strong interpersonal, communication, analytical, and strategic skills
- Experience with Section 189 processes and transformation initiatives
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute full HR generalist responsibilities across SA, with potential expansion into Africa
- Lead Recruitment, Onboarding, Compensation & Benefits, OD, and ER/IR matters
- Draft and implement HR policies and procedures aligned with global strategy
- Manage performance processes, including disciplinary and CCMA representation
- Oversee payroll administration (VIP advantageous) and all HR system functions
- Ensure compliance with BCEA, EE, Skills Development, LRA, and Collective Agreements
- Prepare and submit EE Plans, WSP/ATR reports, and manage training interventions
- Coordinate BBBEE processes in conjunction with verification agencies
