Health and Safety Manager
FMCG / Food & Bev /Agri ~ Manufacturing
East London – Eastern Cape – South Africa
You will ensure compliance with occupational health, safety, and environmental regulations within a manufacturing environment.
Essential Requirements:
- National Diploma or Degree in Health and Safety or Safety Management
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role.
- Manufacturing or construction sector experience
- A strong understanding of ISO 9001, ISO 14000, ISO 55000, and ISO 45001 standards is preferred,
- Expertise in hazard identification, risk assessments, and integrated safety management systems.
- Experience with incident investigations, IOD procedures, and CompEasy reporting, as well as knowledge of HACCP systems.
- A valid driver’s license is essential
Key responsibilities include developing and implementing OHS policies and procedures, conducting safety audits, risk assessments, and training, and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, including the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
The role requires excellent organisational, leadership, and communication skills, as well as the ability to work independently and under pressure. Strong attention to detail is essential. Experience liaising with external auditors and managing OHS documentation is advantageous.
