Our client is seeking a financially astute FM who has accrued 3 -5 years of Banking/Financial Services Management experience. You will be required to manage the financial and accounting processes ensuring sound financial practices within the organisation.
 
Minimum and Essential Qualifications, Experience and Skills
  • BCom Honours Financial Accounting / Financial Management
  • CA (SA) Desirable
  • 2 – 5 years Banking/Financial Services Operational experience
  • 3 – 5 years Drafting of Complete Annual Financial Statements (not just part thereof)
  • 3 – 5 years Cost Analysis and Forecasting experience
  • 3 – 5 years Banking/Financial Services Management experience
  • Financial analysis and reporting
  • Knowledge of Corporate Governance legislation impacting the business
  • Knowledge of risk management
  • Ability to organize, plan and control
  • Interpersonal Relations
  • Integrity, Dignity, Teamwork, Accountability and Ownership, Innovation and Professionalism
 
Key Role Responsibilities
  • Translate organisational goals applicable to the area of responsibility as derived from the business plan into a clear direction, implement effectively and efficiently
  • Implement standardised budget control systems and enforce a culture of continuous control
  • Evaluate negative trends and introduce remedial solutions
  • Support identification, implementation and development of processes to optimise cost-efficiency
  • Monitor and review cash flow projections and investments portfolios
  • Ensure a sound and effective accounting system
  • Ensure that transactions are recorded accurately and timeously in the general ledger system
  • Manage compliance with all financial policies and procedures in the finance division
  • Manage and oversee general ledger reconciliations
  • Develop financial models including profitability and break-even models, where required
  • Develop product cost analysis
  • Budget & Management Information Submit and present the final budget to Board for approval
  • Forecasts on budgeted figures
  • Provide Management Information and Business Intelligence as required
  • Draft, interpret and submit annual corporate financial statements for review and audit
  • Governance, Compliance and Risk Management
  • Manage and resolve all issues on the internal and external audit reports.
  • Report non-compliance and implement corrective actions to ensure compliance
  • Provide specialised professional support to internal and external stakeholders
  • Design, support and oversee cross-functional teams throughout the Organization
Conduct workforce planning to ensure the Finance department is suitably staffed to meet strategic functional objectives
