A well-established manufacturing business is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Financial Accountant to manage the full accounting function. The role will focus on monthly reporting, cost control, and process improvement. It requires a finance professional with a solid understanding of accounting principles, transactional processing, and financial governance, ideally within a manufacturing environment.
Minimum Requirements:
- Diploma or Degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 4–5 years’ experience in a financial accounting role.
- Manufacturing industry experience is advantageous.
- Working knowledge of Syspro is preferred.
- Advanced Excel skills are essential.
Core Competencies:
- Strong financial and cost accounting expertise.
- Proficient in reviewing trial balances, preparing management accounts, and processing journals.
- Ability to prepare budgets and analyse variances accurately.
- Experience in financial reporting, controls, reconciliations, and ledger integrity.
- High attention to detail, accuracy, and deadline orientation.
- Problem-solving mindset with continuous improvement focus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Compile monthly management accounts and key account reconciliations.
- Analyse budget vs actuals and produce variance reports with insights.
- Review and improve financial controls and processes.
- Support audit processes, respond to audit queries, and prepare schedules.
- Maintain distributor price lists and verify portal/system accuracy.
- Oversee weekly and monthly supplier payment checks.
