A leading insurance company is seeking a Commercial Underwriter/ Broker Assistant to provide administrative and client support to the broking team. The role involves managing and responding to client queries, sourcing and comparing quotes, processing new policies, renewals, and endorsements, and ensuring accurate and current policy documentation.
Additionally, you will be responsible for attending to insurer queries, maintaining outstanding tasks, and adhering to strict service level agreements (SLAs) to ensure high turnaround times and service delivery standards. The position requires exceptional attention to detail, organisational skills, and the ability to perform effectively under pressure.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience:
- Matric/Grade 12 (essential).
- RE5 certification (advantageous).
- NQF 5 qualification in Underwriting or Short-Term Insurance (advantageous).
- Minimum 3 years’ underwriting experience in the short-term insurance sector.
- Proven experience in both domestic and commercial insurance.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word).
- Exposure to CIMS and Nimbis systems (advantageous).
- Knowledge of statutory and legislative insurance requirements.
