A heavy industrial operation requires a technically strong Boiler Engineer to take ownership of its Waste Heat Recovery (WHR) system. This role is accountable for maximising energy efficiency, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving system reliability within a high-temperature production environment.
You will optimise WHR performance, support sustainable power generation, and deliver engineering and maintenance excellence aligned to production targets. Working closely with Maintenance and Production, the role focuses on root cause analysis, shutdown inspections, long-term maintenance planning, cost control, and SHEQ compliance.

Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 with a SAQA-accredited Mechanical Engineering qualification (BSc/BEng/BTech).
- Registered and approved to write GCC Factories & Works.
- 5–8 years’ experience in construction/cement/quarry/manufacturing or heavy industry, specifically WHR systems.
- Proven expertise in boilers, turbines, heat exchangers, and power generation technologies.
- SAP ERP experience.
Key Focus Areas
- Optimise WHR output and reduce energy wastage.
- Lead shutdown inspections and compliance certification processes.
- Manage budgets, spares, and maintenance schedules.
- Drive ISO9000, ISO14001, ISO50001 and OHSAS compliance.
- Develop and lead a technically competent WHR team.
