An experienced Junior Lawyer is required to provide legal advisory, compliance, and company secretarial support across a group environment. This is a hands-on role suited to a legally strong professional with exposure to complex, regulated industries and multi-entity operations.
You will support group companies across legal advisory, contract management, compliance, litigation coordination, and company secretarial duties, ensuring adherence to all applicable legislation, regulatory frameworks, and internal governance standards.
Requirements
- Matric and LLB Degree (CIS qualification advantageous)
- Minimum 5 years’ post-articles experience in a similar role
- Large law firm background is advantageous
- Strong exposure to regulated or industrial sectors (mining preferred)
- High attention to detail, confidentiality, and ability to perform under pressure
- Strong organisational, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Proficient in MS Office and SAP

Key Responsibilities
- Provide legal advice across commercial, mining, labour, competition, environmental, safety, and corporate law
- Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of commercial, banking, engineering, and industrial contracts
- Support company secretarial functions, including board packs, minutes, resolutions, and statutory records
- Liaise with regulators (including DMRE and environmental authorities) and manage licensing requirements
- Coordinate litigation matters and manage external legal counsel and legal costs
- Establish and maintain legal documentation, IP administration, and SAP-based legal cost controls
- Drive legal compliance, policy implementation, training, and risk mitigation across the group
- Support legal budgeting and cost control in line with financial policies
