Diesel / Power Generation. An experienced, hands-on Engineering Technician is required to take ownership of the operation and maintenance of gas (LFG) power generation assets across multiple sites.
 
This role is ideally suited to a diesel mechanic or power generation technician with strong mechanical and electrical capabilities who enjoys field-based work, autonomy, and responsibility. The focus is on maximising generator uptime and electrical output, improving reliability, and reducing operational costs by increasing in-house maintenance capability.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Operate, service, and maintain diesel and gas generator sets
  • Perform planned and reactive mechanical and electrical maintenance
  • Provide 24-hour call-out support for generator and plant failures
  • Maintain gas fields, processing plant, and LV electrical equipment
  • Train and support Operations Technicians in basic maintenance and fault-finding
  • Reduce contractor reliance through hands-on maintenance and supervision
  • Manage spares, stock control, and generator operating costs
  • Ensure H&S, quality, and environmental compliance, including emissions monitoring
  • Support installation, commissioning, and integration of new sites
 
Requirements
  • Trade-tested Diesel Mechanic, Millwright, or equivalent technical qualification
  • Proven experience maintaining diesel or gas generator sets
  • Strong mechanical fault-finding with basic electrical competence
  • Experience working across multiple sites with on-call responsibilities
  • Sound understanding of safety, environmental, and maintenance procedures
  • Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel between sites
