We are seeking a true hunter with a proven track record in new business development to drive sales of data backup, recovery, and storage solutions. This role requires a proactive, target-driven professional who excels at cold calling, building pipelines, and closing deals. You will combine strong technical knowledge of data technologies with relentless energy to win new business, while also nurturing long-term customer relationships to maximise growth through upselling and cross-selling.
Qualifications
- Minimum NQF 4 (Matric); NQF 5 or higher advantageous
- Valid Code 8 driver’s license with own reliable transport
- Stable home internet connection
Experience
- 2–5 years’ proven experience in new business sales, ideally within data technologies
- Demonstrated success in cold calling, prospecting, and consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets
- Knowledge of Cloud solutions, enterprise backup products, and data storage connectivity
- CRM experience (Zoho preferred)
Skills & Competencies
- Hunter mentality with the resilience to generate and close new business opportunities
- Strong negotiation and closing skills with a competitive, results-driven approach
- Technically proficient in data management and backup products
- Excellent communication and persuasive presentation abilities
- MS Office literacy (Word, Excel, Outlook essential)
- Self-motivated, organised, and able to work independently under pressure
- High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
Key Responsibilities
- Consistently achieve weekly, monthly, and annual sales quotas
- Generate leads through cold calling, networking, and targeted prospecting
- Build and maintain a qualified pipeline of opportunities
- Conduct prospect meetings, presentations, and product demonstrations
- Manage the full sales cycle from qualification to close
- Prepare proposals, tender responses, and supporting documentation
