As an Irrigation Designer, you will play a critical role in surveying agricultural land and developing efficient, tailored irrigation systems that drive productivity and sustainability for clients. Essential Requirements
- Grade 12 / NQF4 minimum
- A degree or National Diploma in a relevant field is advantageous
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in irrigation design
- SABI membership and SABI Irrigation training is advantageous
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Model Maker, IrriMaker, AutoCAD, and/or IrriCAD
- Experience with CHC NAV / TRIMBLE land surveying equipment
- Advanced MS Excel and MS Office Suite skills
- Understanding of plant and soil science is beneficial
- Valid Driver’s Licence; flexible to work extended hours
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct land surveys and design centre pivots, micro, and drip systems
- Prepare designs, bills of quantities, technical drawings, and quotations
- Select pumps, design pumphouses, and specify pipe systems
- Liaise with suppliers, installation teams, farm managers, and clients
Support business growth through participation in farmers’ days and trade shows
