IT Support Engineer

You will oversee IT activities across regions, including KZN, Gauteng, and Cape Town. This includes managing 1st to 3rd-level infrastructure support and providing maintenance for the company’s BaaN IV ERP system.
Essential Requirements:
- A minimum of 10 years of IT experience, with
- Certifications in A+, N+, MCSA, or a BSC degree in a relevant field.
- Hands-on experience with core Microsoft technologies, including Windows Servers, Active Directory, Group Policy, MS SQL Server, and the Windows desktop operating system.
- Proficiency in hardware and software troubleshooting, data backup and recovery technologies, and managing virtualised environments is necessary.
- Strong technical skills are essential, including desktop and server equipment proficiency.
- Knowledge of networking technologies such as VoIP, VPN, and firewall management.
- Experience in data backup and recovery.
- Expertise in O365, OneDrive, and SharePoint
- Familiarity with time and attendance software is an asset.
- Knowledge of POPIA and its management is an added advantage.
Key responsibilities include managing and supporting end-user desktops, laptops, and network equipment, implementing and improving backup and recovery procedures, and ensuring the smooth operation of the company’s ERP system.
The role also involves supporting IT policies, managing third-party contracts, budgeting, purchasing IT products, and conducting user training. Strong communication, problem-solving, and time management skills, as well as the ability to work under pressure and learn new technologies, are crucial for success in this role.
