Job Description

Our client is seeking an Executive who displays a solid track record of 10-15 years of experience in the mining sector.
In conjunction with the Executive Head and other MANCO members, you will be required to determine the strategic vision, objectives, and operating criteria for the immediate, medium and long term operations for the Mineral Processing plants. Due to our clients' Equity Plan, preference will be given to Equity candidates

Qualifications, and Experience
• BSc(Eng./Metallurgy) or BEng. degree plus
• Business management qualification – MBA would be highly advantageous
• 10-15 years applicable experience will be required
• Experience in managing commercial contracts within the mining industry 
• Knowledge and understanding of applicable legislation, standards and bylaws 
• Knowledge of business development processes and methodologies 
• Knowledge of plant maintenance standards
• Experience in managing SHEQ issues  
• Computer skills (MS Office)
• Project Management skills

Job Duties

Key Performance Areas
• Contribute to the implementation of innovative strategies for the company to influence the overall growth, profitability and development of the business
• Oversee the conversion of the agreed strategy into action
• Grow the business in line with the strategic business plans
• Manage contracts to ensure business targets are met (production, cost, quality, SHEQ, availability, utilisation)
• Compile, review and approve the operations budget
• Compile reports for the EXCO on issues on sites in the area of responsibility
• Ensure optimal operating costs of Mineral Processing plants
• Manage the Safety, Health, Environment and Quality issues 
• Ensure the maintenance system is implemented and maintained at all sites
• Ensure SLA’s are adhered to and regular meetings take place to achieve contract retention
• Explore opportunities for new business
• Assist with preparation and submission of tender documents and proposals.
• Create a culture of high-performance teams
