Our client who has a global footprint is seeking a Regional Logistics Manager to be based in their Johannesburg operation.  Reporting to the Group Logistics Manager your role is to lead the logistics team towards meeting national strategic objectives and targets through regular communication and strategic guidance. Manage the overall logistics and resources, both inbound and outbound and drive the implementation and improvements in operating processes and systems to optimise warehouse and transport efficiencies. You will be required to travel nationally on a regular basis and this includes long distances by car and away from home.

• Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Commerce or equivalent would be advantageous

• Min 5 to 8 years of Logistics Management experience in an FMCG environment is required

• Minimum 3 to 4 years at a management level

• Demonstrated people leadership and competency to manage a widely spread staff compliment

• Ensure all logistics hub operations are operated in full compliance to all relevant national legal standards regarding health and safety and environment.

• Monitor the quality, quantity, cost and efficiency of the movement and storage of inventory

• Ensure the delivery of integrated supply chain services which meets the business objectives 

• Ensure stock take and branch audit processes are adhered to and managed 

• Managing Transport managing system

• Compile and input in the logistics budget 

• Manage costs to ensure lowest cost storage and distribution and optimal utilisation of assets 

• Management and control of capital and operating costs and immovable assets within the scope 

• Maintain a stable Industrial Relations climate through a constructive relationship with staff and all stakeholders 

• Ensure employees are adequately trained and developed to meet the need of the job
