Workshop Manager

Our engineering client operating in structural steel is seeking to appoint a hands-on Workshop Manager for one of their facilities. A large part of the job will be spent on the shop floor managing productivity and motivating staff to ensure that a high-quality product is completed on time and within budget.
Essential Qualification, Experience and Skills:
- Technical qualification – Mech Eng/Structural
- Substantial experience in the fabrication of structural steel
- Well versed with Tekla/X steel and a good understanding of steel drawings
- Good understanding of welding
- Manage entire workshop staff and meet production deadlines (lead by example)
- Optimize resources available to achieve a high level of productivity and output at all times.
- High EQ to lead and manage the team
- Strong planning skills
- Responsible and accountable
