As a Principal Scheduler and Planner, you will manage and interface with the Project Owner’s team throughout the whole project lifecycle,  to ensure the successful implementation of the project. In this role, you will establish and implement best practices in planning and scheduling, for large and mega-sized projects in the company portfolio.
 
Essential Qualifications, Experience and Skills
  • Diploma or Technical qualification
  • Qualification in Project Management / Planning
  • Accreditation:  PSP – Project Schedule Processional – Advantageous
  • 10 years of experience in the following technical Areas – Geology, Mining Metallurgy and Engineering:
o Construction / Engineering Project Management environment
o Construction management experience
o General management experience
o Contractor Management
o 3-5 years of experience in Forensic Planning
  • Advanced skills in identifying structuring, allocating, and management of work packages across a portfolio of projects
  • Experience in contractor and general management
  • Advanced skills in mining scheduling systems such as (Primavera) and MS Projects software
  • Mining and related Proficient skills in applying business improvement techniques
 
Key Result Areas:
  • Development, update, and maintenance of best practices in planning and scheduling
  • Ensure alignment with other key elements/project stakeholders e.g., Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Commissioning, Project Economics, Estimating and Cost Engineering
  • Assist with the development of the integrated project plan and schedules and align all schedules to the Project Operating Plan
  • Ensure project/study scope is delivered on time at each stage-gate
  • Align and integrate the schedule break-down structure with the Work Breakdown Structure and cost break-down structure
  • Draft and implement in-house standards and procedures aligning
  • Coordinating with all relevant project team members and project stakeholders to define schedule requirements (accuracy, sequencing, and level of activity decomposition)
  • Selects, trains, and manage qualified planners to analyse and schedule activities pertinent to the design, engineering, and construction of projects
  • Guide and support teams to develop and maintain a fully integrated Project Master Schedule to monitor and control tasks, milestones, and deliverables
  • Monitor and control progress against schedules (with the Project Team)
