Reporting to the Operations Manager our client is seeking a qualified engineer who is not afraid to get their hands dirty and work unsupervised. You will be managing instrument technicians, Engineers in training and artisans.
Essential Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
- BSc. Mechanical Engineering Degree essential
- Government Certificate of Competency [GCC] as per the OHSA essential GMR2.1: Appointee
- 5 years of post-graduation experience in a manufacturing environment essential
- 3 years of oil/petrol processing plant experience in a supervisory role is preferable
- 4 years of hydrocarbon or chemical processing plant experience is an added advantage
- MS Word and MS Excel
- Own reliable transport
- South African citizen essential
Key Result Areas:
- Uphold the requirements of the GMR2.1 as the designated person
- Provide technical expertise to the team
- Perform root cause analysis on equipment failure and apply reliability-centred maintenance
- Ensure full preventative maintenance is carried out, plan in missed activities
- Manage machine availability, reactively managing dysfunctional machinery with production management
- Schedule minimising planned downtime and reducing unplanned downtime
- Support branch and company maintenance and operating strategies
- Manage and control overtime
- Conduct risk assessments of processes and tasks in the department
- Manage contractors on-site to ensure they meet company and legal requirements
- Ensure team compliance with all company’s established procedures and HSE regulations
- Produce written reports and make presentations
