The Manager: Key Account is the interface between the client, sales channel and the company. Responsible and accountable for developing and maintaining long-lasting trust relationships with a portfolio of strategic clients through the identification of client needs, extending and aligning our solutions to achieve mutual satisfaction. The incumbent will drive the retention of existing clients to ensure continued revenue growth. Ensure alignment of day-to-day client relationship effort, driving collaborative relationships with all stakeholders.
  • BCom or other Commerce related degree.
  • Marketing knowledge
  • IT and information systems advantageous
  • 5-10 years of relationship management experience (preferably in financial services).
  • B-BBEE knowledge base an advantage.
  • Ability to represent the company professionally and confidently.
  • Able to present comfortably to larger groups and audiences, including Boards of Directors
  • Excellent sales strategy skills with a proven track record of success.
  • Excellent prospecting (cold calling) skills, networking, persuasion, negotiation and closing skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral (including presentations).
  • High level of computer literacy.
  • Excellent project management and customer relations skills.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly numerate with strong ability in financial analysis, forecasting, project costing, and preparing and monitoring budgets.
  • Excellent planning, organisational and administrative skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and solve problems.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Strategic thinker with an analytical mind and strong problem-solving skills.
Client Liaison and Client Management
  • Secure, develop and maintain client relationships with key stakeholders on assigned accounts.
  • Actively consult with a high degree of expertise and knowledge, raising the level and quality of contact
  • Stay visible within the assigned accounts by ongoing scheduled visits and /or meetings.
  • Represent the client’s interests to ensure service adjustments are made where necessary.
  • Manage adherence to deadlines on Client Submission.
  • Facilitate the client’s signing of all relevant agreements.
  • Ensure that a close relationship is built on an understanding of the client’s business environment—achieved via existing experience, industry exposure, and research.
  • Solve conflict and manage client expectations.
Build and maintain stakeholder relationships.
  • Liaise with a complex network of stakeholders to ensure business growth and business sustainability.
  • Build strategic inter-departmental relationships to help achieve business goals.
  • Promote effective peer and stakeholder relationships.
  • Manage and ensure effective communication with all stakeholders and sustain client relationships.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure registration with the relevant bodies.
Business Growth
  • Focus on growing and developing existing clients and generating new business.
  • Act as the key interface between the customer and all relevant divisions.
  • Develop and achieve sales through direct sales channels.
Be actively involved in season planning with a focus on increased sales.
