Qualifications
- Essential: B.Tech. Electronic / Electrical / Mechatronic Engineering
- Preferable: Formal qualification in PLC or SCADA systems / PR Eng certified
- Essential: South African citizen
Experience:
- Essential: At least 3 years of experience on a PLC/SCADA system.
- Preferable: Experience in Adroit SCADA and/or Schneider Modicon/Unity PLCs and/or experience in the oil and gas industry.
- Essential: Microsoft Outlook (advanced), Word (intermediate), Excel (advanced).
- Preferable: TCP/IP Networks (working knowledge) or similar; Schneider Unity, Adroit SCADA Software
Key Result Areas
- PLC and SCADA Expertise: Proficiently program PLCs and design SCADA layouts for projects.
- Instrumentation Maintenance: Maintain and calibrate control equipment/instrumentation.
- Fault Diagnosis and Repair: Diagnose instrument malfunctions using tools like Pactware. Conduct fault finding on PLC panels and programs. Perform basic setup, wiring, and fault finding of VSDs.
- Electrical Knowledge: Understand MCC Fault Finding, including DOL cubicle wiring.
- Safety and Compliance: Strictly adhere to HSE requirements, including LMRA and permit-to-work procedures.
- Maintenance and Analysis: Perform general maintenance and analyse root cause.
- Contribute to FMEA and RCM exercises.
