A specialist Heavy Machinery engineering manufacturer supplying purpose-built machinery to the mining and quarrying sector is seeking a Technical Manager to play a central role in shaping the future of its products, processes, and operations.
This is a hands-on, office-based senior role for a technically strong individual who understands both heavy machinery manufacturing and the real-world demands of quarrying and open-cast mining environments. The position combines engineering oversight, innovation, design, project delivery, and commercial input, with clear potential to progress into General Management.
Requirements:
- Tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering
- Or a design/draughting qualification supported by strong manufacturing experience
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a senior technical or engineering role
- Proven experience in heavy machinery manufacturing
- Solid understanding of open-cast mining or quarrying operations (highly advantageous)
- Strong design and draughting capability, including Autodesk Inventor
- High level of IT proficiency and structured problem-solving ability
- Commercial awareness and the ability to engage confidently with customers
