Job Description

Our client our leader in the FMCG manufacturing sector is looking to appoint a CMO to develop, lead and execute the Marketing and communications strategies for the Group, inclusive of business to business, business to consumer and digital initiatives. Essential that you have a minimum of 10 years’ experience in a similar role ideally within the FMCG, Food service industry or industry showing the use of technology to provide a marketing/business edge.

• Technical/IT qualification with relevant industry and technical skills and experience

• Expert brand building, PR and reputation management skills
• Financial acumen and budget management skills

Marketing & Communications
• Define, develop and implement marketing strategies to promote the visibility of brand and product offerings to consumers and to drive sales.

• Identify marketing opportunities based on dynamics in strategy, media, competitive and consumer behaviour and drive the appropriate action 
• Maintain strong proactive knowledge of target customer, retail and marketing trends 
• Collaborate cross-functionally with counterparts and business groups to create content plans inclusive of brand, supplier and customer segment messaging, leveraging media platform best practices for an innovative and integrated approach 

• Set brand marketing programmes and initiatives that align with business objectives and drive individual brand identities 
• Guide the creation of omni-channel content and experiences that drive brand recognition and increase customer engagement 
• Ensure a comprehensive execution of messaging strategies and content usage through media channels, in-store marketing and promotional events Marketing Operations 
• Formulate and drive the development of comprehensive marketing initiatives that align with business objectives and the brands. 
• Develop & Implement Marketing Control & Governance Systems relating to policies, business processes & management processes 
• Manage the Corporate Communication & Customer Communication, and ensure efficiency & effectiveness 
• Ensure Corporate Social Investment & PR processes are proactive & that initiatives are identified accordingly 
• Keep abreast of industry best practice & ensure that this is entrenched in the marketing strategy and programmes Market & Customer Research 

Digital Marketing & Innovation 
• Provide guidance and direction on the principles and trends of Omni-channel retailing to assist the business in its on-line design of customer sales models which would utilize all available shopping channels i.e. mobile internet devices, computers, physical floor space and media, targeting identified South African and African markets 
• Guide the creation of omni-channel content and experiences that drive brand recognition and increase customer engagement 
• Guide the design of processes required to integrate all channels toward providing a single seamless customer experience, no matter which medium is used to purchase goods and services Staff Management

Financial & Budgets
• Develop and present the annual Marketing business plan and budget for all countries where the business has a presence 
• Actively manage budget and business plans to achieve company objectives within set targets 
• Provide cost analyses and budgets to fund marketing initiatives in new target areas and countries
