About this job

Responsible for the sales planning, strategy, and implementation of the packaging products strategy within South Africa.

Key responsibilities:

  • Drive the entire sales cycle from initial customer engagement to closed sales
  • Prospect for potential customers using various direct methods such as calling and face to face meetings, and indirect methods such as networking.
  • Consult with prospects about business challenges and requirements, as well as the range of options and cost benefits of each.
  • Make presentations to senior managers and decision-makers.
  • Draft and deliver proposals including quotations, negotiations and price finalization in coordination with Sales head.
  • Work with technical staff and product specialists where required to address customer requirements.
  • Develop and maintain plans which outline how sales targets will be met on an ongoing basis.
  • Develop and maintain key account plans that identify opportunities for the company to deliver value, strategic motivators, main stakeholders, buying processes and forecasted sales.
  • Provide forecasts on the best case and most likely sales volumes over relevant time periods
  • Provide feedback to company management on market trends, competitive threats, unmet needs, and opportunities to deliver greater value to customers by extending company offerings
  • Manage territory selling expenses in line with corporate budget objectives and scale of business.
  • Deliver customer pricing to optimize company growth and profitability.
  • Understand raw material, manufacturing, and supply chain costs and trends to understand/help establish pricing strategies throughout the region.


Skills Required


  • Relevant Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma


  • Minimum 2-3 years B2B sales experience required
  • Ability to understand and to articulate premium packaging products.
  • Public speaking and presentation skills required.
  • Hunter mentality with a proven track record to seek and develop new business.
  • Ability to work in a matrixed environment.
  • Strong understanding of key performance and sales metrics - (e.g. revenue, volume, and price, cost to serve, etc.)
  • Proficiency with technology to aid in selling: (e.g. PowerPoint, Excel, SAP CRM, etc). Utilize tools to improve sales performance.
