About this job

Our client is seeking a team player who pays attention to detail, is deadline-driven coupled with exceptional organizational skills. You will have extensive ESS, VIP Premier, smart reporting or ODBC (Open Database Connectivity) experience and have managed large payrolls. Your sector experience will include a manufacturing background, with a thorough understanding of time & attendance and shift patterns. Essential that you have manufacturing experience and advanced Excel Skills like VLOOKUP’s etc.

Key Result Areas:

Payroll Administration

  • Maintain and update payroll records
  • Collection of information and updating/inputting
  • Collation and processing of short time, sick leave, annual leave or any other leave
  • Checking of payroll before payment to ensure all forms have been correctly captured into payroll
  • Ensuring that any requests for loans are updated with existing loans outstanding
  • Run the leave reports and ensure leave has correctly accrued
  • Following up on all payroll related queries
  • Process all salary input on the system, earnings, deductions, company contributions, perks, etc
  • Garnishee and maintenance orders for all companies, action on VIP, query and question balances
  • Understand BCEA and keep informed of changes to Tax legislation
  • Liaising with the Union, regarding deductions, etc and completion of withdrawal forms
  • Overseeing the Medical aid / Retirement reconciliation
  • Completion of UIF salary schedules

Payroll Reporting

  • Collate Stats SA every 3 months where relevant
  • Assist HR with Annual Employment Equity Submissions
  • Generation and preparing management reports
  • Preparation of payroll summaries and month-end reporting

 



Skills Required

Qualification

  • Relevant diploma/degree

Essential Experience:

  • Min 3-55 years’ experience on running large payrolls in a senior supervisory capacity
  • Manufacturing sector experience essential
  • Advanced knowledge of VIP Payroll System
  • Excellent knowledge of payroll and legislative requirements
  • Must possess considerable knowledge of principles and practices of personnel administration.
  • Must have knowledge of shift permutations and overtime calculations

Essential Technical skills:

  • Computer literate MS Office (especially Excel)
  • Advanced Excel – VLOOKUP’s
  • VIP Premier Payroll experience
  • VIP ESS experience
  • Electronic time and access control system
