Reporting to the MD a superb opportunity for a dynamic, young financial professional with expertise in the fuel and retail industry. Be able to take a small/medium size business to the next level. Career progression to Director Designate as a career progression in this rapidly expanding business.        

Key Result Areas:

  • Managing all financial and risks aspects of the business
  • Managing all commercial aspects of the business (insurance, legal, statutory, IT system, etc.)
  • Assist the MD with all financial modelling, forecasts, financial structuring and business cases
  • Responsible for timeous and successful annual external audit of the business
  • Implement Loss control processes and monitor
  • Establishment of best practices in Procurement with attention to systems, controls and forecasting models
  • Inventory forecasts and efficiencies
  • Ensure Tax compliance
  • Ensure accurate and timeous reporting on all levels up to management accounts
  • Strategic inputs on finance, procurement, systems, controls, new business opportunities
  • Investigate and ensure individual product profitability
  • Ensure transport costs efficiencies inbound and outbound
  • Cashflow management and forecasting
  • Cost analysis and control in all areas of business control and forecasting
  • Development of compliance strategies on all levels in the business
  • Finding of innovative solutions to address critical elements
  • Management of accounts department including debtors and creditors together with Financial manger
  • Responsible for annual budget together with Financial manager and monitoring of performance against budget
  • Ensure standardized daily, weekly and monthly internal reporting (revenue, cash and debtors recon, debtors age analysis, balance sheet recons etc.)
  • Ensure sound financial administration
  • Ensure the Payroll function is managed adequately


Skills Required

Experience and qualifications:

  • CA (SA)or CIMA qualification
  • 10 Years post articles experience some of it at senior management level
  • Retail / FMCG / Supply Chain industry sector experience
  • Advanced computer literacy, MS Office and Excel (Essential)
  • Good working knowledge of the Companies’ Act
  • Good knowledge of financial systems and internal controls
  • Experience in planning & resource management
  • Experience in cost and risk management
  • Experience in strategic projects relating to analyses and ideas
  • Experience in cashflow management and forecasting
  • Experience with inventory management and forecasting
  • Experience with all tax relating to normal business operations
  • Experience in statutory requirements
  • Experience in procurement best practises
  • Experience in loss control
  • Experience in debtors and creditors financial processes
