Our client is seeking an individual with strong Consultative selling skills who has in excess of 5 years sales experience in Transport / Logistics Services with a proven track record in both new business and customer service skill set. Ability to have strategic conversations with clients an understand the need for and benefit of IT integration.

You will be responsible for securing new business through RFP’s, tenders, leads and focus on strategic prospects that align with the company’s strategic initiatives. Maintain and grow existing book of business and be the customers’ main point of contact for the management, control and maintenance of Key customers for retention, growth, operational efficiency and profitability.

Key Result Areas;

  • Ability to understand, answer & win RFP’s/Tenders
  • Understanding a client’s requirements & thinking outside the box in order to win the business.
  • Responsible for securing new clients
  • Manage pipeline to ensure conversion rate is applied to reach targets
  • Identify opportunities to partner with others to design solutions & implement for success
  • Monitors competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, delivery schedules, merchandising techniques, etc.
  • Master and understand market trends and seasonality in the market.
  • Recommends changes in products, service, and policy by evaluating results and competitive developments.
  • Meet and exceed targets set in terms of contributing and generating revenue for the department
  • Negotiate contracts, T&C, SOP, SLA, KPI’s
  • Build relationships with multiple levels at the client (Strategic, Tactical & Operational)
  • Manage existing client renewals effectively
  • The ability to re-implement clients, continuously looking at different ways to be innovative with the account
  • Continuously sell to existing clients to increase wallet share
  • Visit clients on a regular basis to ensure you are top of mind
  • Negotiate contracts, price increases and other operational challenges
  • Implement and maintain management reporting tools to effectively measure client conformances
  • Assess & gauge client profitability

 



Skills Required

Qualifications

  • Grade 12,
  • Relevant degree/diploma will be an advantage

Experience

  • Extensive market/ Competitor & rate experience
  • Minimum 5 years sales experience in Transport / Logistics Services
  • Minimum with a proven track record in both new business and customer service skill set
  • Proven RFP/Tender experience
  • Proficiency in general MS Office Suite
  • Advanced understanding of Excel & PowerPoint
