About this job

Our client is seeking a candidate who is dogmatic and passionate about retaining and winning new business coupled with a minimum 4 years sales experience in the Transport / Logistics Services sector. You will be required to provide customers with a main point of contact for the management, control and maintenance of key customers for retention, growth, operational efficiency and profitability.

Key Result Areas

  • Maintain & Grow client base
  • Achieve budget per client
  • Build relationships with multiple levels at the client (Strategic, Tactical & Operational)
  • Create & update an account plan per client (develop a strategy per client)
  • Manage existing client renewals effectively
  • Co-ordinate & complete RFP’s / Tenders etc.
  • Have a deep understanding of client’s business and how to add value to their business
  • Work closely with Operations & Customer Service to ensure client satisfaction
  • Continuously sell to existing clients to increase wallet share
  • Visit clients on a regular basis to ensure you are top of mind
  • Negotiate contracts, price increases and other operational challenges
  • Enable & assist Debtors in collecting aged monies
  • Monitor service levels & implement any action plans that are needed to mitigate risk
  • Implement and maintain management reporting tools to effectively measure client conformances


Skills Required


  • Grade 12 / Matric certificate
  • Relevant degree/diploma will be an advantage
  • Driver’s License is essential


  • Minimum 4 years sales experience in Transport / Logistics Services
  • Exceptional working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Advanced understanding of PowerPoint & Excel with some analytical skills
