About this job

Responsible for the full financial administration and reporting function of the companies and branches and factories situated in the major centres around South Africa. Ideally suit a commercially astute FD that has managed turnover in excess of R200 million. Responsible for the implementation and monitoring of internal controls and accounting systems in the company.

Key Result Areas:

  • Attend board meetings and compile all board reports 
  • Manage and report on all treasury functions as well as foreign currency transactions connected to imports and facilitate timeous payments.
  • Preparation of forecasts and budgeting
  • Preparation of all reporting - monthly, quarterly and yearly as well as consolidation
  • Oversee and monitor the stock holding and management thereof
  • Oversee debtors department
  • Negotiations of property rental agreements.
  • Responsible for safeguarding all company assets.
  • Liaising with internal and external auditors.
  • Solid understanding of Creditor’s - maximising of discounts and optimising cash flows.
  • Manage all aspects of human resources includes disciplinary procedures, CCMA and staff management


Skills Required

Education

CIMA / BCom Accounting / CA(SA)

Essential Experience

  • 5-10 Years Financial experience in a manufacturing environment,
  • Cost accounting in a manufacturing environment
  • Wholesale / Retail / Manufacturing experience essential
  • Import and export exposure - Experience exporting to African countries
  • Consignment stock control experience
  • Managed administration through a branch network
  • Debt management and knowledge of the credit act.
  • Dealings with banks for both local and foreign funding requirements
  • HR/IR experience essential
  • Knowledgeable of IFRS accounting guidelines
  • Computer literate and knowledge of ERP system

Essential Skills

  • Ability to work independently and under pressure
  • Sound communication skills as well as Interpersonal, facilitation and conflict management skills
  • Analytical, reasoning and problem-solving skills
