About this job

Working as Manager Accounting and Costing, you will be responsible for the following tasks but not limited to it:

  • Oversee the functioning of customer invoicing;
  • Oversee the functioning of customer payments and other matters related to debtors’ management like insurance cover, ageing, reporting of past due customers, customers’ queries for statements, etc;
  • Ensuring the reconciliation of customers’ balance between General ledger and Accounts receivable;
  • Analysis of monthly / quarterly sales per customer, per category and per product;
  • Working closely with Sales Manager / Director Marketing for annual sales budget and any other queries related to sales;
  • Performing monthly price and volume including mix variance analysis of sales to give reasoning of any movements in contribution margins;
  • Running the month end processes for Inventory, WIP and Accounts receivable;
  • Performing pre, and post calculation of profitability per stock code / job and reporting the factors contributing major variances;
  • Calculating overheads absorption rates per quarter for each major machine in operation and revising pre calcs accordingly;
  • Devising the standard operating procedures (SOPs) for sales ordering, invoicing and customer payments. If required, to devise or fine tune SOPs related to other processes in the organisation.
  • Assisting in preparation of presentations for quarterly Board meetings;
  • Manage day to day supervision, training and development of the team. Providing objectives to the team members and performing appraisals as per company policy;
  • Coordination with external auditors of the company for statutory and special audits, if any; and
  • Any other tasks assigned by the management / supervisor on ad hoc basis.    

Skills Required

Minimum Requirements:

  • CA(SA) or CIMA
  • 2 years post articles experience
  • IFRS experience
  • Experience gained in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Able to lead small to medium sized team
  • Advanced level Microsoft Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
