5 years general management experience of which at least 2 years in operations at senior management level in the Retail sector essential. Strategically manage the National Sales function to achieve organisational objectives and create and sustain a profitable environment.

Key Result Areas:

Provide Strategic Direction

  • Development and implementation of the sales/business strategy
  • Ensure comprehensive understanding of Client & Customer strategies and objectives
  • Provide Leadership
  • Identify new businesses / opportunities for growth
  • Ensure sustainability


National Sales Strategies and objectives

  • Create a sales driven culture
  • Identify and manage sales opportunities and weaknesses
  • Achievement of sales targets


Optimise Human Potential

  • Manage Performance, Training, Succession Planning, and Employee Retentions and ensure this is implemented across the National Sales Team.
  • Manage Employment Equity
  • Manage remuneration reports
  • Employee relations issues dealt with according to the Group disciplinary code


Optimise Client / Customer Relationship

  • Draft and implement a contact strategy
  • Determine / Manage Client / Customer needs
  • Provide strategic insights to Clients / Customers
  • Manage effective flow of information
  • Make contact with Floor Manager and Store Management
  • Discuss sales per performance vs targets with supervisor / management
  • Ensure regular customer interaction


Manage Finance

  • Draft and manage expense budgets in accordance with group parameters


Skills Required

Minimum Requirements

  • Relevant tertiary education in business management
  • 5years general management experience
  • Of which at least 2 years in operations at senior management level
  • Retail experience essential
